Tony Zhao
Tony Zhao is a serial entrepreneur, and founder and CEO at Agora. He founded Agora in 2014, with a vision to provide high quality voice and video as a ubiquitous platform to developers and business around the world. Previously, Tony was CTO and board director at YY.com (NASDAQ: YY), one of the world’s first video-based social network and live streaming apps with over 300 million users. From 1997 to 2004, he served as a founding engineer at WebEx Communications Inc, where he developed the audio and video technology for the industry’s first web collaboration solution. WebEx was acquired by Cisco in 2007 for $3.2 billion.
Reggie Yativ
Reggie is an accomplished executive with over 20 years of leading high-growth startups and enterprises. He currently serves as the CRO and COO at Agora Lab, Inc. (went public June 2020 NASDAQ; API), where he spearheads the go-to-market and expansion efforts. As a passionate and strategic leader, Reggie takes pride in driving global awareness towards Agora’s Real-Time Engagement technology. Along with a growing team at Agora, he works hard to provide the best value to developers, customers, and partners through operational excellence. Before joining Agora, Reggie was the VP of Sales at Redis Lab and excelled as a growth catalyst with dynamic talent acquisitions that led to impressive annual revenue growth across numerous global markets. He has also held other significant leadership roles, such as Americas CEO at Magic Software Enterprise, a Nasdaq-traded enterprise software company.
Barbara Pickering
Barbara has spent 25 years in high-tech, specializing in bringing new, innovative products to market. Prior to her career at HP, she ran a startup in Seattle, working primarily with Microsoft to create various consumer titles, build custom automation tools, create content, and moderate social media. Since joining HP, Barbara has been working in the Consumer PC division, releasing innovative products such as pioneering touch screen interfaces, integrating 3D cameras, and launching the OMEN Gaming PC and Spectre PC brands. Recently, she was an Innovation Scout, helping various HP Inc. computing divisions identify new technologies, and working with third parties to integrate them into our core products. Recently, she returned to the Gaming division to create the OMEN Oasis watch party service. When she is not working, she enjoys nature, art, and writing fiction.
Jay Wilder
Jay has over 20 years of experience leading teams to deliver high quality, market leading solutions across multiple industries including audio systems, consumer electronics, security, healthcare, and semiconductor equipment. Jay is passionate about building great products and modernizing development organizations using agile practices, devops, and automation.
Jay currently leads the global software team at Bose, working to deliver amazing products and experiences in consumer electronics, health and wellness, automotive systems, and professional and installed audio.
Mark Donnigan
Mark Donnigan leads the market development efforts for Visionular, a company focused on advanced video technology innovation and solution development. Mark is a veteran of the video ecosystem working with disruptive innovation companies to increase video codec, encoding, and streaming technology adoption. Mark has played key roles in trailblazing companies, including the video technology innovator Beamr, OTT VOD pioneer VUDU; Kaleidescape, a first-of-its-kind home entertainment server built by a NETAPP co-founder, and a digital video kiosk backed by Toshiba and NCR. Mark contributed actively to the cross-industry digital locker initiative Ultraviolet that enabled digital video content to be accessed across streaming platforms and OTT services. Ultraviolet lay the foundation for consumers to enjoy video on any device, at any time, and in any location.
Marc Metis
Marc Metis is an experienced leader driving innovation in XR, software, mobile, and the Metaverse, working in senior general management, product, marketing, and investment roles. He is Vice President of HTC’s VIVE business unit, where he heads XR Enterprise Software and founded and runs globally the industry leading VIVE X accelerator. He serves on the Board of Directors of the XRA industry association. Previously he was CEO at venture funded mobile and social games company Digital Chocolate. Prior to that, Marc headed marketing and ecommerce for flash memory leader SanDisk, and was VP of Global Brand Management at games industry leader Activision. He began his career in strategy at management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Marc graduated from Dartmouth College and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Tom Impallomeni
Tom is Co-founder/CEO of Tribe XR. Tribe's mission is to make the world more creative. Their first product, "DJ in VR", is a virtual studio where DJs and Music Producers can take lessons, practice, play and perform. Tom is a serial entrepreneur. He previously co-founded SuperAwesome (acq: Epic Games), and was CFO of early social network WAYN.com (acq: Lastminute.com). Tom is an adviser to Genflow andFireTech Camp. In his spare time, he's a husband, dad to three girls, a music lover, and a long-suffering Tottenham Hotspur fan.
Michael Glenn Williams
MGW is currently Co-Founder and CTO of TotalVU. Before this he served as technical consultant to the United Nations in Rome as security and network expert. Previous to that he held the position of Chief Architect and Leading Scientist at Nokia. Other positions included Chief Architect at Fujitsu, Lead software engineer at HAL computers and Staff Engineer at Sun Microsystems.MGW has a wide variety of patents, including Interactive Television, online video, online interactivity, security, mobility, clustering, wireless LAN, mobile office, search, email and in MMU design. As an industry leader he is a senior member of IEEE, has served as Vice Chair of the IEEE 802.21 working group, Secretary for the IEEE 1275 Open Firmware standard, member of the IEEE 1754 Open Microprocessor standard, and delegate from Fujitsu to the SPARC 10 architecture group.
Debargha Mukherjee
Dr. DebarghaMukherjee received his M.S./Ph.D. degrees in ECE from University of California Santa Barbara in 1999. Through 2009 he was with Hewlett Packard Laboratories, conducting research on video/image coding and processing. Since 2010 he has been with Google LLC, where he is currently a Principal Engineer/Director leading next generation video codec research and development efforts. Debargha has authored/co-authored more than 100 papers on various signal processing topics, and holds more than 100 US patents, with many more pending. He has delivered many workshops and talks on Google's royalty-free line of codecs since 2012, and more recently on the AV1 video codec from the Alliance for Open Media (AOM). He currently serves as a Senior Area Editor of the IEEE Trans. on Image Processing, and as a member of the IEEE Image, Video, and Multidimensional Signal Processing Technical Committee (IVMSP TC).
Tsahi Levent-Levi
Tsahi Levent-Levi is a developer by heart, always have been. The thing is, Tsahi found out he loves writing and looking at the bigger picture of product and strategy. He joined the world of consulting and entrepreneurship when WebRTC was announced. For the last 20 years, Tsahi has been working in the software communications space as an engineer, manager, marketer and CTO. Through BlogGeek.me, Tsahi helps companies simplify communication technologies, creating elegant and effective solutions. He is the co-founder and CEO of testRTC, a company focusing on testing and monitoring WebRTC applications. He also serve as the W3C Evangelist for all things WebRTC.
Luis Alberto Guevara Mendoza
Luis is a Co-founder of My NextDerma YC(W21), the largest tele-dermatology app in Latin America. Luis loves designing and developing new technology and he is currently interested in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Carlos Lucas
Carlos has been working at NexStreaming for almost 20 years, leading the company transformation from a software provider to handset makers to becoming the market leader Player SDK for premium video apps. Carlos is an engineer with MBA and passion to create innovations that help the global market.
Shawn Zhong
Dr. Shawn Zhong is the Chief Scientist at Agora, where he is in charge of developing advanced video coding, transmission and computer vision technologies. Prior to Agora, he had held various positions such as the CEO at the Hisense Microchip Company, CEO at SJ Micro Inc, and Senior Principal Scientist at Broadcom. He has more than 100 patents and patent applications and more than 30 published journal and conference papers.
Vadim Nekhai
Vadim is CRO and co-founder of Banuba. He is an AIPMM-certified product manager with an MBA from Belarusian State University. Based in Minsk, Belarus, he has extensive experience in IT, project, and product management with both start-ups and large enterprises. Vadim is a product guy who is passionate about turning ideas into products that consumers love. Modern video calling has some significant limitations when it comes to the camera and the way it represents us. Hiding backgrounds for privacy, adding beautification to feel comfortable with your look, or just wearing funny face filters to warm up the conversation; these features, so seemingly simple yet essential, are now possible with Banuba.
Jan De Cock
Jan De Cock joined Synamedia as director of codec development in 2019, where he is leading an international team of video experts who develop the in-house codecs that power Synamedia's real-time encoding products. Before that, he served as manager of the video and image encoding team at Netflix (Los Gatos, CA), where he was involved in the introduction of optimized video streams, new codecs and profiles, A/B testing of video innovations and the evaluation of codecs and standards. Before joining Netflix, he was active as Ph.D. researcher, post-doctoral researcher, and assistant professor at Ghent University (Belgium), where he worked on a variety of national and international projects in collaboration with academic and industrial partners. He held postdoctoral fellowships from Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) and Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO). While in academia, he performed research on a range of topics in the field of video compression, including transcoding, scalable video coding, and high efficiency video coding. Jan was general co-chair of the 2018 Picture Coding Symposium (PCS), and holds M.Sc. (2004) and Ph.D. (2009) degrees in computer science engineering from Ghent University, where he also graduated in 2017 as M.Sc. in business engineering, majoring in finance.
Nora Abousteit
Nora Abousteit is a serial entrepreneur who is the founder and CEO of CraftJam Inc., which is a social media network for crafting that applies behavior-change and neuroplasticity research to age-old traditions delivering happiness. CraftJam's live-stream and IRL workshops are unforgettable curated small group experiences where people learn, craft, and connect. Previously she founded two million-user plus online crafting communities, including the world’s largest sewing network with over one million members. CraftJam is a fast-growing startup that has hosted over 25,000 attendees. The company has been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, TimeOut NY, and on NBC. Nora is Egyptian-German and holds a degree in Middle East studies, political science and philosophy from the American University in Cairo, Egypt. She talks frequently about entrepreneurship and the DIY economy. Her writing about life as a company founder has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and other publications. Virginia Liu is SVP of Marketing and Ecosystems at Agora.io. Virginia brings more than 15 years of marketing, developer relations and strategic partnership experience in the software industry, with track record in delivering drastic growth and business transformation. Virginia joins Agora.io from Microsoft, where she held several leadership roles in developer marketing, business development, and product marketing. She also served as a board member and managing director for AppCampus, a $24M mobile accelerator jointly funded by Microsoft and Nokia. She holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Zhongshan University and an MBA with honor from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Nidhi Sharma
Nidhi Sharma is the founder of Abby - a live shopping startup in India bringing together brands, shoppers and shopping experts on the same platform. Abby aims to make the online shopping experience for gen Z and millennials quick, fun & easy with live product demos and live interaction with the shopping experts. Nidhi was one of the leading home shopping anchors in India where she spent a little less than a decade presenting 2000+ live shopping shows on TV for premium brands and products across categories like jewellery, skincare, electronics, fashion and kitchen. Her biggest LIVE show touched a GMV of approx. $140,000 in real time. Nidhi describes herself as a passionate entrepreneur and also as a dreamer, seeker and learner.

He is a Colombian, American and Canadian Entrepreneur with over 12 years of retail experience working with North and South American Retailers, Distributors and Brands. Previously worked with various Latin America governments to provide them technology solutions to connect their local companies with International Buyers. Former Wholesale Distributor of Electronics throughout Latin America selling to the biggest retailers in the region. Juan has been a panelist and speaker in various events throughout the Asia region and Latin America Region. He holds a B.Sc. in Finance, from the Florida State University.
Kim Langen
Kim is the CEO and founder of Spirit of Math Schools Inc., the CEO and Founder of Releasing the Genius Inc., and a global consultant for private and public-school divisions. Kim’s interest in education started when she taught elementary and high school students in public and private institutions for over 20 years and was the director of academics for a private girls’ school. As an educator, she was instrumental in developing the proprietary curriculum, teacher training programs and business structure to form the Spirit of Math system, which also now includes Spirit of English and Spirit of Technology. Outside Coursera, Melody serves as a volunteer executive for a K12 not-for-profit and was previously building artificial intelligence products at two early-stage SaaS startups in the Bay area. Sid Sharma
Sid Sharma is leading the developer evangelism efforts at Agora. He has experience in both API and platform evangelism with heavy exposure in the CPaaS. RTC, and RTE space. Prior to Agora, he worked on the Nexmo DevRel program to improve developer experience which helped increase the API call rate by over 350% in 2 years. Prior to that, he worked at CodinGame where he helped engage and grow the developer community by 3.5X to over 900k developers. As for hobbies, Sid enjoys attending tech conferences, watching/playing sports, and going on drives by the coastline.
Suzanne Nguyen
As Sr. Director of Communications, Brand, and Community at Agora, Suzanne is leading communications around Agora’s real-time engagement platform. Suzanne has been driving innovation for the developer ecosystems for over 20 years. She was one of the first evangelists for Java Mobile Edition and also the originator of the Java ME developer program. Suzanne was also one of the key drivers for Android community growth through T-Mobile’s developer community support. She also spearheaded the “Apps with Feelings” campaign at Immersion Corporation, which brought notoriety to haptic implementations in mobile apps. At Samsung, Suzanne lead the effort to connect the developer world to the next big opportunities and was the executive producer for Samsung Developer Conference for 4 consecutive years, growing the conference by 8x.
Ben Weekes
Ben Weekes is a Senior Architect at Agora. An original pioneer and innovator of WebRTC technologies, Ben was Founder and CTO of Requestec which was acquired by Blackboard in 2014 for expertise in WebRTC conferencing. After serving as Chief Architect at Blackboard, he joined Agora to continue his journey in pushing the boundaries of video telephony.

Brad has spent the majority of his career on the technology side, working directly for media and entertainment companies and more recently, pivoted into bi-directional Real-Time Engagement via Social Audio and Social Video. Brad Mortensen
Brad Mortensen is a partnership development manager at Agora where he focuses on working together with third party technology to be made available within Agora’s Extensions Marketplace. In addition, Brad also concentrates on education partnerships, leaning on his five years of experience at Microsoft where he managed and grew relationships in the EdTech sphere.

As the Director of Agora for Startups, Tony Blank is deeply rooted in the startup ecosystem. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and has delivered hundreds of workshops, mentor sessions, and speaking engagements to help startups grow. His unique perspective and insights are drawn from thousands of conversations with startups around the world. Previous to Agora, Tony led the startup programs at Twilio and SendGrid, supporting a world-class team, helping over 5,000 startups find product/market fit and grow their first customers. Tony also draws on his technical expertise gained over the years at multiple startups, as a developer evangelist, and a software engineer. In his free time, Tony enjoys making music, going on dog walks, and cooking with his family.
William Bao Bean
William is a General Partner where he is the Managing Director of Chinaccelerator, SOSV’s global internet programs and the first startup development program to launch in Asia, and Managing Director of MOX, a mobile-focused program with 160m smartphone users on its platform. Amaya is a multi-faceted product & strategy leader, with over 15 years of software industry experience in product leadership, user experience, research, product marketing, and strategy. She’s an inventor listed on over 50 technology patents in the US and internationally. As Chief Product Officer at bande, Amaya and her team are looking to transform the virtual fitness landscape by building an immersive live streaming platform and social networking platform that fosters real human connection and enduring relationships. Formerly Amaya was Vice President, Research & Product Marketing at Mindbody, where she built and scaled UX, market research, and product marketing disciplines. Hermes is a Senior Developer Evangelist at Agora.io, leading Agora’s Developer Education initiatives. In his role, he leads a team focused on creating guides and demos for developers leveraging real time engagement-based technologies, such as live interactive streaming, and video communication. Prior to joining Agora, Hermes was the lead solutions engineer for Blippar’s NY team, specialized in building web and mobile apps that leveraged Augmented Reality, Computer Vision and other emerging technologies.

Pedro Góes is the CEO of InEvent, a Y Combinator venture-backed company providing an event, marketing, and sales platform for Forbes 2000 Global companies, including Amazon, Coca-Cola, KPMG, Santander, Unilever, Boeing, Embraer, and Citibank. She co-founded Symbl almost 3 years ago that is now backed by Amazon, she is also a Techstars alum. Symbl raised an early-stage venture round of $6.5M and deployed capital to grow a team of tech enthusiasts to more than 40 people primarily distributed between India and Seattle. Mrs. Schrader has vast experience developing programs that engage work-forces with results that increased productivity and bottom-line profitability. Mrs. Schrader is a former board member of Creative Startups(2019), Birmingham’s inaugural Mayor’s Small Business Council (2021), and UAB’s O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Advisory Board (2021). Jeremy Bailenson is the author of the best-seller Experience on Demand, and is the world’s leading authority on Virtual Reality (VR). He heads up Stanford’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab (VHIL), a cutting edge research center on human behavior in immersive environments. At Stanford, Bailenson studies the psychology of Virtual and AugmentedReality, in particular how virtual experiences lead to changes in perceptions of self and others. His lab builds and studies systems that allow people to meet in virtual space, and explores the changes in the nature of social interaction.
